Facility Outline

The ARRC has three experimental streams and six ponds. The streams are 800m long, one of which is straight,while the morphology of the other two can be modified depending on research questions. The bank material of the six ponds can be changed to either soil or concrete.The flow regime of the streams can be manipulated, enabling us to investigate the ecological role of floods. The experimental streams are also heavily used in our environmental education programs which constitute an important component of the ARRC's activities.
